Once upon a time (in 2021)…

after resigning from my role as a Teacher-Librarian at a local primary school, I threw caution to the wind and opened my very own brand of bookstore ‘Wildflowers & Reading Hours’ on Latrobe Terrace in Paddington. I was there for almost two years before the winds of change then swept me up the road a little to a gorgeous little spot under the shade of a big, beautiful old fig tree on Macgregor Terrace in Bardon.

Qualifications/history/weather aside, I am also warm, friendly, fun-loving and creative. I LOVE making things with kids, and find that if I do it right, we also make memories in the process. Connecting little people to story can really be as simple as helping them to make a sparkly magic wand just like the one held by the protagonist in the book that they have just read.

Worth mentioning too I think, that as well as being the founder of a cute little bookshop, I am also ‘Mum’ to two lovely children. If I’m not in the bookshop, I’m probably with them, or on a school run to get them, daydreaming about my next grand adventure somewhere. I am currently manifesting a boat and a little house by the sea brimming with books, art and lots and lots of seashells. As you can probably now tell, I’m big on the little things. Handwritten letters. Kind, sparkly eyes. Butterflies. Ladybugs. Wildflowers growing through cracks in the pavement…

I genuinely look forward to talking about books and/or little things with you and yours soon x
